Living life to the full

Last weekend I visited the Lowlands Festival 2011 here in Holland. I've been to this festival before, the last time I was there was about 10 years ago!

We arrived on Thursday afternoon in the pouring of rain.... Great start to load yourself up with all your gear and head to the entrance. But this did prove a very good trial run for my backpack!

This was the first time I had actually packed it, and I filled it up to the brim for this weekend. Besides clothes, tents and sleeping bags we also brought lots and lots of our own food and drink. As we arrived in the rain and I hadn't brought my protection / rain cover I was worried that everything was going to be soaked, but I was very relieved when we finally got all the tents set up (approx 4 hours later after walking what felt like 10 km and waiting in the queue at the entrance for 2 1/2 hours!) that most of thecontents were dry!
The following days during the festival we had great weather and enjoyed the music, sunshine and beers ;-)!

So this was a good trail run for the use of my backpack, because it's getting very near now! In under a month I be on the plane on my way to Sao Paulo... :-)))

In 6 weeks time I'll be setting foot on Brazilian ground!

Sao Paulo is the start of my 3 month trip through South-America. After Sao Paulo my trip will continue to Argentina, Chili, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador.

So as this exciting trip is coming nearer and nearer I have started a countdown for myself!

I am new to blogging, but have started early so I can find out how it all works. Then while I'm away I can keep you all posted about my adventures and where I am. And of course that you can keep me updated on what going on at home!
